Subject: Re: URGENT Planning Application Issues

Dear Mrs Shord
Thank you for your email on the planning matters.

The 18 affordable dwellings was subject to a site meeting of the Vale planning committee which I was able to attend and attempt to point out our concerns with the road junction etc. as can be seen on the Vale planning portal pages. Unfortunately it would seem that subject to an agreement with a Housing Association that this development is likely to go ahead.

Regarding Gileston Manor:
I share your concerns on the quantity of vehicle movements that this development will generate. The community council debated this at length in the last meeting but the over riding consensus was, as the venue is proposing approximately 50 events throughout the year, that although an inconvenience should not be a major problem. I expressed my personal doubts and disquiet on this.
Ultimately the decision on this development is in the hands of the Vale planning Dept.
I can only suggest that residents individually express their objections through the Vale Planning portal ( it is more effective than a letter as can be seen by everyone) based on the points you have put forward to me. I would however point out that the venue is not applying to hold events in the frequency you have quoted and the the traffic report submitted with the application bears this out.
Not withstanding this, the issue of single track roads and the restriction particularly at the Monument junction are still pertinent in my opinion.

If I can be of further assistance please feel free to contact me again
